A nightclub in a hotel is a cliché, but Story steers clear of all of that with a packed roster of fun nights and gigs. Don’t go here expecting hotel guests and staid businessmen in crumpled suits, because you’ll be in for a surprise. Not only do they have a separate entry independent of the hotel, they almost function like a standalone with none of the pretentions we#39;ve come to expect of five-star venues. It does indeed, for lack of a better word, weave an elegant story. The expansive two level space comes with state-of-the-art sound and the bar area has an expansive wall display of all the spirited offerings. We love their giant hanging bulbs lit stairway and the outdoor deck seating that only opens during winter. Besides the usual drinks and wine list, they have a huge range of classics and in-house cocktails. We fell hard for their take on the Ramos Gin Fizz and the bartender#39;s special Spiced Molasses. The Story Bubbly is a fancier alternative to Sangria that pairs well with bar snacks like Chilli Prawns and Stuffed Jalapenos. The in-house DJ always churns out fun old classics and disco numbers, which are big hits on the dance floor hit during ladies night every Thursday.
