We belong to the “coffee is always a good idea” tribe and if you do too, then this news will get you super kicked! Just as winter comes knocking, we’ve got two brand new caffeine-centric spots that have launched in the last week, and since lingering over tall cuppas with something sweet on the side is how we love to spend our idle evenings and weekend afternoons, we did just that. Here’s your first whiff. The Coffee Bond, Uday Park We’ve been ogling at their Instagram updates for weeks now and the cosy café deserves all that attention. Opened last Sunday, TCB is run by three boys who were inspired by the fabulous coffee culture in Melbourne and now want to up the ante of Delhi’s bean scene. Though there’s still time before they go full steam, right now this tiny set up is serving a small menu of select roasts, organic tea and healthy cookies. After a particularly traffic-ridden drive back from work last night, we tried their Café Latte (Rs 95) and a pot of Rose, Chamomile and Lavender Tea (Rs 115) to warm us up, Creamy and rich, the coffee got us hooked with its strong flavour and sweet aroma. The tea, on the other hand, was fragrant and soothing – just what the weather demanded. No long queues, just warm helpful staff and baristas who will help you pick your beverage at this cafe that is trying to be paperless i.e. no bills. We love the eco friendly vibe and the no frills space. We’ll be going back soon and by that time, they will have a full stock of baked and savoury goodies. A stepping stone for bespoke coffee with a personalised experience, walk into this small space for some peace and quiet. Blue Tokai Roasterie, Saidulajab We are finicky about our coffee and we love it when someone wants to brew us something fresh! Equipped with a rotating selection of coffees, this new roasterie by the good folks at Blue Tokai is going to be open all through the week from 10am to 6pm. A mecca for roast-nuts and not to be confused with your neighbourhood coffee shop, go here to watch how your coffee is roasted and to get help choosing between Flat Whites or Cortados. They have coffee to-go available if you like things simple and they can also set up a freshly brewed coffee delivery service if you have an office near Saidulajab. Although the space officially opens on November 16th, they are inviting people to drop by to experience the entire process amidst the “orderly chaos” that comes with setting up a new place. We hear the plan is to add food paired with their fabulous brews soon, so watch this space for more!
