Considering some of the country’s best and biggest media houses operate from Noida, the lack of great standalones and quick delivery options surprises us every time we’re planning a team lunch. Thankfully, over the last few months, things have changed and after a heartening second edition, we are back with another round of new launches and upcoming options in this quickly growing suburb.
Our Story Bistro Tearoom, Sector 18
A cute little spot spread across two floors with a small outdoor seating, Our Story is the brainchild of 3 sisters. With earthy décor, a few handmade paintings splashed all around and bright layout – the warm and quirky eatery makes for the perfect spot on a winter afternoon for a cuppa with friends. The menu sees a mix of variety from India, Italy, Thailand and China with the Masala Cutting Chai (Rs 115) that serves 2 people along with Chilli Poppers (Rs 175) being a great combination. While those wanting something warm can try their Minestrone Soup (Rs 195), the kitchen needs to work on the food – none of which particularly stood out. But with a dedicated corner for bookworms and attentive service, this newbie can be a good pit stop before a meal, until the menu gets better.

The Flaming Kick – TFK, Sector 18
This newly launched resto-bar has one of the biggest lounge areas with plush interiors and a private dining room adorned with leather furniture. The kitchen churns out global flavours from traditional Indian to Mexican and even Italian alongside Thai. On the other hand, the bar sees flaming cocktails and concoctions such as the TFK signature (Rs 799) – their twist on a Mojito with white rum, brown sugar crackles, lime, mint and chilli. If you are more into bubbly drinks, their collection boasts of Champagne magnums and the finest wine.

FRSH
Meals in office canteens tend to get a tad boring, which is why we were ecstatic when we heard this Gurgaon startup is expanding to Noida. Known for their healthy and economical options of sandwiches, salads and beverages that come with calorie content, FRSH is a godsent for days you’re abstaining from junk food. The light Gourmet Fruits and Nuts Salad (Rs 222) comes with a yoghurt dip, while the Veg Extravaganza Sandwich (Rs 160) and Paneer Tikka Hummus Sandwich (Rs 160) are both wholesome but need some more flavour punch. We rely on their kitchen in Gurgaon pretty heavily, so are hoping the meh order was just a case of first week jitters.
