Amaltas welcomes the city for an evening of string of some beautiful melodies, as Drhruv Bedi performs live. Sink into a soothing evening with Sitar Recital by Dhruv, disciple of Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee. The recital will be followed by Hindustani Vocal recital by Anirban Bhattacharyya, disciple of Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty.
Dhruv was born in a family of musicians. His grooming in sitar began at the tender age of four years. Born on September 16, 1990 Dhruv started playing and learning from his father. Blessed with musical background it was easy for Dhruv to learn and communicate with music. He has collaborated with different genres of music and performed with Carnatic Classical musicians, Jazz musicians, Korean musicians, Scottish musicians and other western genres of music in India and abroad.
Anirban Bhattacharyya is a Hindustani classical vocalist of the Patiyala tradition and a budding ethnomusicologist from Kolkata. A senior disciple of Padmashree Ajoy Chakraborty, Anirban aims to break the boundaries between different performance traditions and create a unique space for him. A President of India Gold and Silver Medalist from All India Radio in Khyal and Thumri, and Champion in Thumri from State Music Academy in 2010, Anirban is also a National Scholar in Rabindra Sangeet and regularly performs with the legendary Kathak maestro Padma Vibhushan Birju Maharaj.
