Old World Theatre Festival

This October, Old World Culture brings the annual ‘Old World Theatre Festival’, both at India Habitat Centre at Lodhi Road and Epicentre in Gurgaon. Bringing a spectacular assemblage of the finest theatre in India, the festival will showcase plays that entertain and provoke, plots that question and span a range of issues spanning from - relationships, freedom and gender stereotypes, religion and faith, eroding ecosystems and assaults on sustainable agriculture and rural livelihood.  Opening the festival at IHC is the much renowned play – Ramayana, by Jalabala Vaidya and Akshara theatre, a tribute to theatre personality Gopal Sharman who passed away earlier this year. While the curtain opener play at Epicentre is Barff, featuring the versatile actress Sadia Siddiqui and veteran actor-director Saurabh Shukla. Besides these two, the eight day long festival will be featuring various other plays at both venues, including – Doll’s House, The Gentlemen’s Club aka Tape, Koogu, Agnes Of God, White Rabbit And Red Rabbit, and more.
