Based upon Rabindranath Tagore’s novella - Nastanirh., the play is about the story of Charulata, the lonely and wealthy housewife who lives secluded and idle life in Kolkata.
Her husband notices her loneliness and asks his cousin, who is a writer, to keep her company. His cousin helps Charulata in developing her writing skills and eventually both of them fall for each other. The plot intensifies when Charulata confesses her feelings in front of her husband and her husband feels that his world his shattered.
