Cities Of Sleep, a film by Saunak Sen, will be screened at the Italian Embassy, this Wednesday. The film revolves around the world of insurgent sleepers both communities as well as the infamous ‘sleep mafia’ in Delhi, a city where something as basic as obtaining a safe place to sleep is a matter of life and death, for some. The film has two main characters – Shakeel and Ranjeet, two homeless people, who shuffled around the city looking for a place to sleep, be it subway, park benches, parking lots or abandoned cars.
The film screening will be followed by a question and answer session with Saunak Sen and Aman Mann (associate director). It’s a walk in event (free), however carrying a photo ID is necessary.
