The Capital takes it food seriously and entrepreneurs are making full use of it with a series of food-centric events lined up for the next few weeks. From cuisine specific festivals to street food celebrations – we’ve rounded them all up! Great Indian Food Festival Celebrate the best of street food from different parts of our food rich country with renowned vendors that bring generations of experience with them. From Samosa to Vada Pav – go on a gourmet trip from one location at this weekend celebration. And since they say a city’s street food is its best showcase, you are sure to leave happy and well fed. Watch out for authentic and delicious food from the likes of Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and more. Where: Dilli Haat, Pitampura When: January 23rd to January 24th, 11 am to 11 pm Entry: Free Asian Hawkers Market A befitting celebration of Asian food from across the Far East and South-East Asia – get prepared to take a culinary journey from Tokyo to Bali via Sichuan and Yangon without stepping out of Delhi. The second edition of the succesful will once again feature pretty stalls and colourfully festooned food carts laden with goodness from staples such as Neung Roi, The Fatty Bao, Mamagoto along with delivery specialists ThaiCrate and even Mumbai phenomenon PaPaYa. Psst, we hear murmurs of a restaurant launch amidst this gala as well. Their hawker experience with gourmet touches is a big draw and they keep the portions small, so you can try more within an easy price range of Rs 100 to Rs 500. Where: SelectCityWalk Mall, Saket When: February 12th to February 14th, noon to midnight Entry: Free Palate Mini The popular food fiesta is back this spring with pop-up restaurants, cookery classes and workshops at the picturesque Nehru Park. The 3-day celebration of all things edible also offers an insight into the latest fine-dine trends with more than 30 restaurants, cafés and eateries offering tasting menus and signature dishes. You can also shop for homemade desserts, gourmet coffee, snacks and more from the likes of MyGreens, Handi, Iqbal’s, Sinyora’s, Chi: Asian Cookhouse and Kaffa Cerrado. As a bonus, there’s entertainment throughout the day with some of the best bands playing live. Where: Nehru Park When: February 12th to February 14th, noon to 11 pm Entry: Free World Food Wine Festival   Bringing together delicious food and exotic wines from all over the world under one roof is the debut of this two-day event. With over 200 stalls and 300 wines on offer, the team is working towards bringing the best of both worlds to each guest. Expect live performances including one by Hans Raj Projekt, plus food related competitions along with a fun zone for all ages.   Where: Gate No 2, JLN Stadium When: Sometime in February, TBA Entry: Rs 100 The Grub Fest Before touching the hearts, palates and plates of food lovers in other cities this year, The Grub Fest plans to head back to its base camp in March to showcase a bigger, tastier and even more entertaining festival for all of us! Watch this space for more.
