Ishara Puppet Theatre Festival

The Ishara Puppet Theatre Festival is an annual festival organised by the Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust. This year, the festival will return with its 14th edition and will feature artists from across the world – Iran, Sweden, Egypt, Italy and more. The schedule for the festival is as follows: 5 February: Puppet Got Talent | Country: Egypt  A unique celebration of the folk tales of Egypt, this show will have a zany clown, a dancing diva, a handsome prince and even a Sufi dance performance by puppets. 6 February: Bravo Bravissimo | Country: Italy  This act includes puppets and dolls dancing, curtseying and singing like real people and has been inspired by some of the most popular Italian operas. 7 February: Behind My House | Country: Switzerland  This is a glove puppet show that aims to educate children about the gift of nature and how to appreciate the greenery around them. 8 February: Dinosaur | Country: India  This non-verbal show is the story of a T-Rex dinosaur that gets separated from his family. An old raptor takes him under his wing but will he be able to save him from the predators? 9 February: Variety | Country: Sweden  Master puppeteer Thomas Lundqvist brings to India for the first time a popular puppet variety show. It is a series of comic stories and vignettes using stunning puppets, scenery and music.  10 February: Petrushka | Country: Russia Russia’s most famous and oldest puppet tale comes alive with this hilarious performance. Petrushka goes to the fair where he is being loud and obnoxious. Will he learn some manners and find his sweetheart at the fair? 11 February: Little Red Riding Hood | Country: USA  This popular children’s story comes alive in a hilarious way with puppets. Other beloved characters like Miss Puppet and Little Bunny Foo Foo will also be making an appearance. 12 February: Water And Others | Country: Iran  This act with a lesson aims to educate both adults and children about the importance of water conservation. Mr Foot is looking for a drop of water to water his flowerpot but there is none to be found because of the drought. What will he do? 14 February: Hans In Luck | Country: Afghanistan Based on a popular German folk tale, this show is about Hans who is on his way to meet his mother. But his journey is fraught will obstacles and bad luck. Will he ever reach the end of his journey and meet his mother? Ticket prices: Rs 375 Tickets available on BookMyShow
