Kishore Pratim Biswas, a painter, who prefers painting impromptu, has been producing modern contemporary art for the past 15 years. His current exhibition ‘Steam Locomotive’ came into existence when he got inspired by watching the locomotives whistling and steaming past him, at his birth place. With the giant black body and white steam floating around it created a dramatic effect to the entire ambiance. This served as encouragement to kishore, bringing down the memory on canvas. Kishore used to go to the locomotive workshop day after day to study that from a close view, finally creating watercolor and oil sketch in sepia tones.
Born in Kolkata, 42 year-old Kishore was passionate about art since childhood. After graduating in Fine Arts from Government College of Art Craft, Kolkata, 1996. Kishore spent some struggling years in his hometown and then moved to Mumbai in 2009, where he now has his own studio.
