While microbreweries in Gurgaon were churning out fresh brew, we relied on The Beer Café to introduce us to a huge range of international brews previously unavailable and of course, the concept of a beer chain itself. Now that it’s grown into a behemoth, its Biggie variant is spread over 3 floors with a terrace with the same cheery vibe. The other thing different about this outlet is their focus on pub grub, although the menu has now been extended other Beer Cafés as well. The Hungry Tide was the first to catch our attention with a serving big enough for two. It includes Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, Chicken Olivetti and Fish Fingers – basically everything an average Delhiite would want with his beer. There’s also Beer Bites with pairing suggestions for brews that vary from ales to ciders and lagers. The Erdinger Dunkel is our top dark wheat beer pick with its underlying fruity hints and fragrance, while Magners could best be a starting point for a newbie beer drinker. It’s easy, light and citric like the bottled Liefmans Fruitesse, both of which are served on the rocks. The music is a mix of hummable tunes and the service is well informed, making the experience a happy one!
