Electric Daisy Carnival Comes To India

The Electric Daisy Carnival originally began as a small rave in Las Vegas in the early 1990s, and subsequently snowballed into the full-fledged carnival that it is today. Celebrating global dance music with editions springing up across cities in North and South America, a typical EDC experience also includes rides and zany performance artists. Well, Insomniac – the folks behind EDC – have teamed up with event and artist management behemoth OML and beer barons Budweiser to bring the party to Delhi NCR’s Buddh International Circuit. This news couldn’t come at a better time, considering the electronic festival circuit is still reeling from the possibility of Sunburn and Supersonic being banned from Goa during peak tourist season aka the exact dates they are held at! So take heart and start making bookings now because the first phase tickets are already on sale. The first phase of the line-up has us quite excited with international heavyweights Afrojack, Alesso, Steve Aoki, Yellow Claw, Tommy Trash and Dutch DJ R3hab on the list. The names for local talent are equally promising with confirmed acts like Arjun Vagale, Nucleya, Pearl, B.R.E.E.D., BLOT!, Dualist Inquiry, Sandunes, Sound Avtar, Zaeden, Lost Stories, Anish Sood, Sartek and Shaan. Much like the Vegas version, neon lighting and stages with larger-than-life installations will rule here, while the festival ground will be divided and decked out in themes based on the five elements. So far, there’s the Kinectic Field that promises to be a visual spectacle and will play host to the headliners; the Circuit Grounds for bassheads and trance fans; and also the neon garden that will embrace fans of deep house, future house and techno. Expect to be greeted by a series of interactive art installations as you make your way between stages and we hope there’ll be a few carnival rides too! When: November 12th-13th Tickets: Rs 3,500 (Early Bird); Rs 4,500 (Regular) and Rs 12,000 (VIP) More info here
