Watch this Assamese adaptation of four stories from the Assamese folktale compendium Buri Ai’r Xadhu Grandma’s Tales). Set in pre-colonial India, the film refers to present-day crimes against women in Assam, including infanticide and witch hunting. The film has been directed by Assamese director who has worked extensively in Indian film and television. He has co-directed Live From Peepli and co-writtenPlayers.
The movie is being screened as part of the best selection of Dharamshala International Film Festival from 2015. The director will also be present at the screening for a discussion thereafter.
