The art of Madhubani painting can be traced back to the times of Mahabharata when the entire village of Mithila was painted using natural colors, twigs, leaves and kalam. Learn the polished art of Madhubani in this two-day session.
Curated by Manisha Jha, a National Award winner, the workshop will introduce to participants to three styles of Madhubani- Kachni, which deals with monochromatic line work, Bharni, which deals with filling up of subjects with solid colors, and Godhana, in which the colors appear in concentric circles on parallel lines. Materials and complimentary lunch will be provided for all.
