Two years in and Striker has persevered in a mall surrounded by several other bars. The service has lost some of its charm though, perhaps because of a sense of complacency that we hope they will fix soon. The gigs and comedy nights continue to be one of the biggest draws with a huge stage, though the music has changed from rock to Punjabi and Bollywood as per the crowd’s demands. We still miss the fresh brew this brand is known for in Gurgaon, but the bar is stocked with enough pints and pitchers. For those who swear by Long Island Iced Teas, they offer two alternatives of which the deceptively non-potent Adios Mother replaces tequila with bourbon retaining the vodka, gin and rum mixed with Grand Marnier liqueur. The Caribbean Wellington, which adds a delicious dark rum and melon twist to the Malibu and pineapple juice beach escape, is a good pick. For sharing platters, they offer four different options between vegetarian and non-vegetarian and each is exactly what it should be — greasy, delicious and good with beer. While you wait for your order, try some quick serve Masala Peanuts and Loaded Chicken Nachos, because the waiters tend to be slow.
