The Sarai Programme believes cinema as a desire to congregate audiences to participate in a distinct world of experiences. Taking along this idea, Sarai will screen films to shift focus, to conjure up unusual images and sounds and organize discussions with practitioners, researchers and an interested public.
The Sarai will be screening Placebo, directed by Abhay Kumar. The narration is about a filmmaker who goes undercover in a prestigious medical college whose administration stands accused of turning a blind eye to an unfolding tragedy. Placebo is a hybrid documentary which won the jury nomination award for best debut in 2014.
The respondents of the film at the event will be filmmaker Rahul Roy and Ravi Vasudevan, a professor at CSDS.
