There’s no denying the charm of dishes that leave us nostalgic. Whether it’s the biryani our grandma used to make or the pav from the neighbourhood bakery we grew up eating – regional food is close to our heart, and stomach! Considering Delhi is a melting pot of influences, cuisines and religions, it makes sense that we also have the best eateries. Here’s a list of four newer entrants and the best they’ve got to offer. Bombay Brunch, Satya Niketan This recently launched spot in the student heavy Satyaniketan dishes out authentic Maharashtrian cuisine that is still hard to find in the city. We hear all their chefs are from Mumbai, so our search for the perfect pav ends right here. They bake a fresh batch of pav bread everyday from scratch, so don’t even think twice before you go for their Vada Pav (Rs 60), which hits all the right spots. Follow it up with their special Mumbaiyya Dosas including the indulgent Cheese Butter Dosa (Rs 110) or the Special Gini Dosa (Rs 180). End with an authentic Dabeli (Rs 80) and you’ll leave happy and well-fed. Price: Rs 400 for two Timings: 11.30 am to 10.30 pm Lama Kitchen, Hauz Khas Village A fluffy Tibetan bun with creamy sauce, that’s Datchi done right. This Bhutanese combination is what hungry dreams are made of, and the Tibetan eatery has heaps of it. Lama Kitchen replaced Yeti as a worthy contender. Their version has strong hints of chilli and cheese with a vegetarian friendly Datchi Mix Veg (Rs 310). Meat lovers must go for the juicy Datchi Buff (Rs 395) followed by the Nepali Thali (Rs 495) that comes with varying seasonal options including a hearty Rai Saag we love. Price: Rs 1,500 for two Timings: 12.30 pm to 11.45 pm Khyen Chen, Saket If you’ve ever craved a hearty Kashmiri meal, we feel you. And now, the traditional restaurant from Gurgaon has hopped over to SelectCityWalk’s food court. Their Tabakh Maaz (Rs 249) is so juicy and succulent that you’ll polish it off in quicktime, while the delicate Rogan Josh (Rs 259) has mild flavours of saffron and cockscomb. Follow this up with the signature juicy meatballs aka Goshtaba (Rs 249) before you top things off with the Fireen (Rs 111). Price: Rs 800 for two Timings: 11.30 am to 11.30 pm Lucknow Mail, DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon There is no need to travel all the way to Lucknow to get a taste of authentic delicacies anymore. Their Mutton Nihari (Rs 400) – a slow cooked mutton stew is top notch. And of course, there are killer kebabs onboard including Mutton Boti (Rs 200), Mutton Pasanda (Rs 250) and Galauti Kebab (Rs 200) – all of which will keep you asking for more. Vegetarians will enjoy the legendary Kathal Biryani (Rs 200), which is packed with authentic flavours. Price: Rs.800 for two Timings: 11 am to 11 pm
