HCL concerts present ‘True To Our Roots’, featuring The Dance Of Fire Wind, featuring Mohiniyattam by Gopika Verma along with Bharatnatayam by Meenakshi Srinivasan. The event comes as an intiative by HCL to conserve and promote India’s art and cultural heritage. To this end, HCL has been organizing HCL Concerts for over 17 years, dedicated to identifying, evolving and promoting talent rooted in the glorious heritage of Indian classical performing arts.
Gopika has been trained under the great guru Smt. Kalyani Kuttyamma and continued under Smt. Girija and Smt. Chandrika Kurup. Her Mohiniyattam is marked by extreme grace and fluidity of movement, transmitting radiance through movements and expressions.
Meenakshi took her training in the Pandanallur school of Bharatanatyam; her initial learning and foundation being under Smt. Alarmel Valli. She was awarded the Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Bharatanatyam in 2011.
