The fourth edition of India’s own Beer Pong Slam is being hosted at Bottles and Barrels on July 9th and it’s the perfect chance to win prizes worth Rs 1 lakh including Rs 20,000 in cash and gift vouchers worth Rs 70,000 – all while you chug away!
WHAT IS IT
This popular college drinking game involves players throwing a ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in the beer mug on the other end. The game typically consists of opposing teams of two or more players with 10 cups set up in a triangle formation on each side. This version is a knock out beer pong tournament where you sign up as teams of two, get paired with another competing team, and then just aim to win. Basically, you have to attempt to throw ping pong balls across the table into your opponents cups filled with beer, aim well and get the rival team drunk, but even if you lose, you get free beer, so it’s a win-win!
WHAT TO EXPECT
The first duo from the 64 teams (that’s the highest number allowed) to land ping pong balls in all the cups over 4-5 rounds will be the winner. The losing team is required to drink whatever beer is left on the table. And if you and your partner get knocked out in the first round, don’t be disheartened, as the organisers are planning a wild card entry round too. So if you’ve got some skills and can handle your beer, then get your a game on to experience a whole new meaning of spirited fun. Register in teams of two for Rs 1,250 and get 2 bottles of beer, some more beer during the game and goodies. The winners over the knockouts as well as the runners up take home a gift set worth Rs 6,000 per team and winners get unlimited Kingfisher beer for the rest of the night. Open only to ages 21 or above, the dress code for the night is smart casuals. Even if you aren’t a participant, just go to the venue for a drink can catch a glimpse of the tournament, as you cheer for the best teams!
