An adaptation from Shakespeare#39;s ‘The Merchant of Venice’, it is a story about a Rajput merchant, who lends thirty thousand rupees to his friend, after borrowing them from a Sindhi lender, so that his friend can woo and marry a wealthy princess. The Sindhi lender, lends the money on a condition that if the Rajput merchant fails to repay the loan, he would have to give a pound of his flesh as a return.
Rajput’s friend is successful in marrying the girl, but his ships are lost in a storm and he is unable to repay his loan. As the play progresses, the Sindhi lender claims the Rajput merchant’s flesh in the court of law.
