The temperature might be on the rise but that just gives us even more excuse to find newer places to chill at. And when it comes to new spots in town, Delhi just doesn’t disappoint! EDITOR’S PICK Delifrance, Cyber Hub, Gurgaon More than 25 years of traditional French baking and outposts in 50 countries over five continents later, Delifrance has finally made its way to India. Renowned for their French style baked delicacies such as baguettes and croissants, this bistro and bakery has an irresistible menu ideal for breakfast and all-day eats. We already know fans of their Les Sandwiches Classiques (Rs 169 onwards) with the likes of Ham, Cheese and Cucumber (Rs 259) and Tuna Mayonnaise(Rs 299). For a heartier eat, go for the Plats Chauds (Rs 199 onwards) or hot dishes including pastas as well as salads and mini bites. Wash these down with hot coffee or their steaming teas. Price: Rs 1,000 for two Timings: 8 am to 11 pm NOW OPEN Barcelos, Sector 29, Gurgaon Portugal’s famous chicken just made it to Gurgaon in its biggest avatar. The recently launched biggest outlet of the chain is known for its White, Black Magic and Bloody Red burgers. This branch also comes with an innovative new menu where even the signature wraps have undergone a colourful makeover. Price: Rs 1,200 for two Timings: 11 am to 11 pm Talli Singh, Sector 29, Gurgaon When a restaurant’s welcome note says, “Aao aur talli ho,” you know it’s going to be worth your while! This one’s also in the Leisure Valley Market and is a fun place offering inviting interiors and an interesting menu. With offerings as diverse as Daru Ke Saath Munchies or appetisers (Rs 259 onwards), Soup Woop (Rs 129 onwards) and Sloppy Joe Talli Burgers (Rs 399) – you wouldn’t know whether to be hungry or amused. Global specials such as Broiled Fish (Rs 499) and even Asian Bowls (Rs 295 onwards) make an appearance. But it’s the bar menu that will keep you coming back with everything from beer, Champagne to classic cocktails. Price: Rs 1,300 for two Timings: 12 pm to 12 am QRO Gourmeteriia By Dark House Kafe, Satyaniketan A hookah lounge doesn’t open in the city very often, and this one promises great food in a laidback environment. Warm interiors with interesting lighting and a dash of quirky décor set the tone even before you check the diverse menu. Price: Rs 1,000 for two Timings: 11 am to 11 pm OPENING SOON Epicuria, Nehru Place Epicuria - Delhi’s original food hub hasn’t taken off quite like we expected it to, but all that’s about to change with some epic additions. The Nehru Place gem is expanding to a whole new floor with exciting outlets of Social (yay!), Lord Of The Drinks and Pizza Express. Dao’s dim sum cousin Dimcha is also relocating here, while tea sensation Chaayos and chicken champion Nando’s will offer VFM fare. We are also excited about Dhaba by Claridges making a much-anticipated appearance and Taco Bell finally opening another outlet. The Irish House will also make its debut after having wooed Mumbai, Kolkata and Pune with more than 50 of their signature brews clubbed with traditional Brit and Irish grub. The fun starts unveiling towards the end of this month, so watch this space. The Colonnade, CP After bringing CyberHub to Gurgaon, DLF is now set to launch a mall-like space in the heart of the city. Over the past few months, we’ve seen a surge in eating out places opening across this beautiful central neighbourhood and this will take it to the next level. Located right in inner circle, you’ll spot this soon-to-be-ready spot space with names like the coffee chain Costa Coffee, Oriental goodies by Kylin, gourmet pizzas at Fat Lulu’s, Asian fare by Mamagoto, quirky grub at Cafe Delhi Heights and beer chugging at The Beer Cafe as well as a cool new hangout called Permit Room by the Raasta crew amongst others. Watch this space for more deets.
