Unraveling the rich history of the female royalty of India, the book #39;Maharani#39; by Tasveer publications has its grand exhibition and launch at Sanskriti Museum this week. Most of the history is rich and oriented towards the male rulers or Maharaja and their life, however, as a counterpart, this book brings into focus the female rulers (Maharanis) of the forgotten glamorous era.
The exhibition brings forth the story of the females of royal family who circumvented and reinvented the traditions as well as those who embraced and reinvented the modern aspects.
In association with Mapin publishing house, the book includes four original texts by K.G Pramod, Amin Jaffer, Martand Singh and Shilpa Vijayakrishnan. The introduction done by Abhishek Poddar and Nathaniel Gaskell.
