The play is set in Lahore against the backdrop of the 1947 partition and is about an old Hindu woman living in Lahore who, robbed of her son and family as a result of the riots, refuses to give away the property to a Muslim refugee family from Lucknow.
While the Muslim family has suffered the painful displacement due to Partition, they are desperate to claim the house as theirs and are also not opposed to bringing in local goons for the same.
