The Everlasting Flame: Zoroastrianism in History and Imagination exhibition takes the sightseer on a expedition from the initial time of the religion to its surfacing as the primary religion of imperial Iran terminating with the realm of the Sasanians. With a collection of over 300 objects on display, those visiting will be introduced to a rich and diverse range of artefacts, texts, paintings and textiles; besides installations that include a walk-in fire temple and a ten-meter glass etching based on the British Museum’s cast of the western staircase from the palace of Darius at Persepolis. Furtheremore, the exhibition comes with narratives of 10 stories, with its complete history, unraveling the ways in which Zoroastrianism was perceived via art, iconography and literature of non-Zoroastrians down the ages.
