Painted Weaves, an exhibition by SG Vasudeva, is a depiction of his work of tapestries on silk. Inspired by the tapestry work done by Picasso and Braque, during his Europe visit, the artist put together his own paintings and drawings using this medium with help of weaver Subbarayalu. Fusing the traditional practice of silk craft and textile with contemporary art, Vasudeva has been collaboratively working on the project for the past two decades.
The exhibition puts on display different paintings by him, like Tree of Life, Maithuna, Humanscape, Earthscapes and Theatre of Life.
